Too old for day camp but too young to work or just want an exciting summer program for your teen?  KPA2 Summer Day Camp offers a special TEEN CAMP  for 13-17 year olds.

SESSION 1 - June 11 - July 6, 2012

BONUS WEEK - July 9 - July 13, 2012 (ONLY for those registered for both sessions)

SESSION 2 - July 16 - August 10, 2012


This high-energy camp introduces teens to the creative fundamentals of theater including improvisation, learning to develop and portray different characters, cold reading to help prepare for auditions, monologues, and humorous and dramatic acting within a song.  Teen Campers will also have instruction consisting of instruction in Writing Exercises, Music Production and Vocal Recording.  Teen Camp also consists of dialogue covering “Pop Culture” icons and musical messages and imagery that have negative effects on its’ listeners. Each student will leave the session with a group production recording (compact disc) of their own originally recorded work.  The teens will also perform their original music in the end of the session showcase.

Teens will also learn how to produce a video magazine. In teams of 4-5, teens will create and film segments of a camp video magazine show. In the process of planning their segments, teens will study news broadcasts and other video magazine concepts; develop scripts; and utilize production and film techniques such as setting, presentation, props, camera angles, and editing. The teens will incorporate all form of creative and performing arts into the magazine including drama, dance, music, and visual arts.

*Must be registered for both sessions to participate in bonus week.

Tuition: Single Session (4 weeks) $375 or
Both Sessions (8 weeks + FREE BONUS week) $575

CAMP HOURS
Daily 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Before Care 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
After Care 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

SPECIAL EVENT DAYS
The teens will experience exciting field trips and professional entertainers and guest teachers are scheduled to perform throughout each session.  Parents will receive a schedule ahead of time.


CASTING & CAMP ACTIVITIES
• We provide a non-competitive, nurturing and fun environment for our campers.
• All Campers participate in the last day showcase each session!
• All roles in the showcase are assigned to the teens by our staff. Campers are not required to do cold readings or prepare memorized audition pieces.
• We reserve the right to determine casting at our discretion.
• Any special clothing, costumes or dress is provided by the parents.
• Nutritional lunch served daily
• All campers receive a Camp Shirt

FUND-RAISING
Each session KPA2 MUST raise additional funds through charitable gifts and fundraising activities to cover the costs of the program. Each enrolled family is required to participate in a fundraising event per session which usually consists of ticket sales to the showcase/production.  KPA2 under the VKCDC is a 501(c)(3) organization and this contribution is tax-deductible as allowed by law.
