Summer Day Camp

KPA2 Summer Day Camp offers a special performing arts camp for 5 to 6 year olds (Kreative Kidz), 7 to 12 year olds and 13 to17 yr olds (Teen Camp).  Each camper, works with our staff to design his or her own unique summer experience. Campers are able to focus on one particular area of interest, or they may choose to select a variety of activities throughout the summer. We are, at the same time, a theater camp, an audio/visual arts camp, a cheer/drill camp, a dance camp, a music camp, a sports camp, and a camp that offers all the traditional camp activities, with world class programs.
Children are assisted by specialists in each area to explore the fundamentals of the performing arts. We at KPA2 Summer Day Camp feel it is this blend of activities that provides the most special and positive camp experience a child can have.

Although the performances are always superb, it’s the process the campers go through and the fun they have that are the most important elements. The showcases we present are a distillation of the most beloved scenes and songs young actors can rehearse and perform within their camp experience. The final week of EACH camp session culminates in a showcase of what our campers have learned in their workshops, as well as our main theme.

SESSION 1 - June 6 -  July 1, 2011
BONUS WEEK - July 5 - July 8, 2011*
SESSION 2 - July 13 - August 5, 2011

*Must be registered for both sessions to participate in Bonus Week

CAMP TUITION/FEES
Tuition:  Single Session (4 weeks) $100/wk ($400 per 4 week session) or Both Sessions (8 weeks + FREE BONUS week) $75/wk ($600 for 9 weeks)
Before & After Care: Single Session $20/wk ($80 per 4 week session) or Both Sessions $20/wk ($160 for 9 weeks includes FREE BONUS WEEK)
Deposit: $100 per student (required to reserve space. NO EXCEPTIONS)
Balance: Due PRIOR to start of session. (Convenient payment plan option available.)
Sibling Discount: 15 % for second child/ 20% for third child or more.
Subsidy accepted (must be pre-approved)
Additional Fees:  Some camps require additional fees or purchase of supplies (e.g. make-up kits, costumes/uniforms for Showcase/Performance.)
All session fees can be paid by cash, check or money order. (There is a $35 fee for all returned checks.)

REFUND INFORMATION
NO REFUNDS OR CHANGES after or on June 1. Last day for camp refunds or changes: May 31.
Refunds or changes prior to June 1 are subject to a 35.00 processing fee (refunds) and camp availability (changes).
There is a $35 processing fee on all refunds.

POLICIES
All published staff, prices, dates, times and locations are subject to change.
Students must meet age requirements by the 1st week of the session.
Since some camps fill quickly, be sure to indicate second and thirds choices.
Confirmation information will be emailed to you unless we are specifically requested to mail it.
We accept cash, credit/debit, checks, and money orders. (There is a $35 charge for all returned checks.)

CASTING & CAMP ACTIVITIES
All Campers participate in the last day showcase each session! (Sports campers participate in Olympic style decathlon.)
All roles in the showcase are assigned to the children by our staff. Campers are not required to do cold readings or prepare memorized audition pieces.  We reserve the right to determine casting at our discretion.

SPECIAL EVENT DAYS
Each week will have its own special theme. Some of these fun events include: Pajama Party, Wild and Wacky Day, Scavenger Hunt, Super Soaker Day, Circus Day and Showcase Day.  In addition, we will experience exciting field trips and professional entertainers are scheduled to perform throughout each session.  Parents will receive a schedule ahead of time.

ATTIRE
All students are required to wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing to camp. Please consult specialist for specific uniform for class. Detailed information regarding uniforms and corresponding dance shoes (if required) will be distributed during registration.  Any special clothing, costumes, dress or uniform is provided by the parents. All campers receive a Camp Shirt which MUST be worn on all field trips.

CAMP HOURS
Daily 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Before Care 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
After Care 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

FUND-RAISING
Each session KPA2 MUST raise additional funds through charitable gifts and fundraising activities to cover the costs of the program. Each enrolled family is required to participate in a fundraising event per session which usually consists of ticket sales/admission to the showcase/production.  KPA2 under the VKCDC is a 501(c)(3) organization and this contribution is tax-deductible as allowed by law.
